Preparing Your Home for Your Cleaning Appointment

Thank you for choosing us. A little preparation before your appointment helps our technicians work more efficiently and ensures the best pssible results. In most cases, preparing your home is much easier than people expect. Many clients tend to overprepare, but our goal is to provide an exceptional experience with the least amount of inconvenience.

Preparing for Carpet Cleaning

Before your appointment, please:

  • Vacuum all carpeted areas being serviced. Additional charges may apply if excessive debris requires extra pre-cleaning.
  • Remove breakable or valuable items such as lamps, picture frames, vases, collectibles, and electronics from areas being cleaned.
  • Remove as many small furniture items as possible, including dining chairs, ottomans, plant stands, and small tables. Our technicians are happy to move lightweight furniture, such as dining room chairs, at no additional charge.
  • Pin up full-length draperies so they hang at least 6 inches above the floor.Tuck in or pin up bed skirts to provide access beneath beds. Our low-profile Evolution carpet wand can clean underneath beds with approximately 12–36 inches of clearance, depending on the bed frame.
  • Place pets in a secure area away from the work space. Exterior doors may remain partially open while hoses and equipment are in use.
  • Large or delicate furnishings—including china cabinets, sectional sofas, bed frames, mattresses, entertainment centers, antiques, pianos, and fragile furniture—cannot be moved. Where accessible, we can hand clean underneath or clean carefully around these items. Our cleaning tools include spray shields designed to help protect adjacent furniture during cleaning.

For additional information regarding furniture moving, stain removal expectations, pre-existing conditions, and service limitations, please refer to our Service Agreement & Customer Authorization.

Speed Up Dry Times

To help your carpets and upholstery dry as quickly as possible:

  • Set your thermostat to approximately 72°F.
  • Open windows or sliding doors when weather conditions are appropriate.
  • Set your HVAC fan to the "On" position.
  • Turn on ceiling fans throughout the home.
  • Run your air conditioning during hot, humid weather to reduce indoor humidity.
  • Place portable fans so they move air across damp carpet whenever possible.
  • Remove the plastic furniture tabs or blocks after the carpet is completely dry.
  • Avoid sealing up the home without air circulation. Proper airflow helps prevent excess moisture from remaining indoors and promotes faster drying.
