FAQ's

You spend about a third of your life on your mattress. When was the last time you gave it a good, deep clean? It’s time to change that. Besides promoting a more pleasant and productive night's sleep, a clean, cared for mattress can last longer, and it might even help prevent nasty, not to mention, costly pest infestations.

Back when most mattresses could be flipped over, the conventional wisdom was that you should turn it twice a year, and take that opportunity to clean it as well. These days, a lot of mattresses, including the pillow-top variety, can’t be turned because they have a proper top and bottom. But cleaning your mattress two times a year remains a good rule of thumb.

What's in your mattress?

2 million dust mites and their allergenic feces. Dust mites thrive in warm, humid conditions, making our mattresses an ideal place for them to live and breed. They feed on the 28g of skin cells that we shed each month and each live mite can produce 20 allergenic droppings a day.

Why clean your mattress?

Dust mites feces are easily inhaled , triggering allergies. Moving around in bed disturb the feces, which then stay airborne for up to 30 minutes. Measuring only 3 microns in size, they can easily be inhaled. Many people don't realize that they could be suffering from allergies triggered by dust mites feces.

Allergic Rihinitis - Itching, running nose, and sneezing

Eczema - Sore, itchy and inflamed skin

Asthma - Wheezing, shortness of breath

Cleaning Methods

Vacuum

We will need to remove the dust mites and their feces. Our powerful truck-mounted vacuum system will easily extract the allergenic feces, dirt, dead skin, along with dust mites. The benefit of using our truck-mount vacuum system, is that all of the allergens are being extracted and expelled out of your home and not back into the air you breathe.

Antimicrobial cleaner and steam clean

Application of BotaniClean to your mattress will penetrate deep into the fibers. This antimicrobial cleaner will disinfect your mattress by killing bacteria, germs, fungus/molds, and viruses. The extraction process is critical, our truck-mount system heats the water to 240 degrees. This will kill the dust mites, clean, and sanitize your mattress, while removing all debris. Leaving your mattress like new.

Enzyme based application

Next, we will apply an enzyme based cleaning product. This product will remove any organic material that is in or on your mattress. The enzyme consumes organic material while your mattress is drying. This enzyme will help protect your mattress even after it has dried. The enzyme will return to spore form, and will continue to work in case of any accidents that may occur in the future. Plus, it will deodorize your mattress leaving it fresh and clean smelling.

While your mattress is drying, take all bedding and toss the items into the wash. To remove the allergens that are in your bedding, always use the hottest water setting on your washing machine. Newer washing machines, actually have an allergen or sanitize settings. Place bedding on high heat to kill any surviving dust mites.
