Tri-Valley Carpet Care would like to be part of your proper cleaning and maintenance routine. We want to ensure that your rugs maintain their beauty throughout the years. Area rugs can add a beautiful element to any room in your home. Your area rugs, however, are exposed to tremendous wear and tear on a daily basis. They trap dust, dirt, mud, odors, oils due to heavy foot traffic, pet accidents, and spills.

The process of cleaning an area rug is different than cleaning carpets. Most carpet cleaners will come to your home and steam clean your area rug right then and there. They add abrasive carpet cleaners to clean your area rug then extract the water, often leaving detergent residue that accumulates in the rug. This makes the natural fibers clump and stick to each other.

Tri-Valley Carpet Care will come to your home to inspect your area rug. We will analyze the fibers, dyes, origin and condition of the rug to determine the appropriate cleaning solution or recommendation. Tri-Valley Carpet Care takes the time to answer questions and give an estimate for the proposed work.

Cleaning Methods

Sometimes our pets love our area rugs even more than we do. The Cleaning process listed below is used for non-pet stained area rugs. Area rugs that are affected with urine will need to treated differently. We will employ all the same process listed below, but will add an additional two steps to eliminate pet stains and odors . The urine stain will need to be neutralized and eliminated. An acid based neutralizer will break down the urine and enzyme based cleaner will eliminate it. The urine removal process will be an additional $20 fee.

Pre-Inspection

We will determine if our cleaning process is right for you, or make other recommendations.

Pre-test

To ensure color fastness of all rug colors for any signs of fugitive dyes (bleeding).

Vacuum

Face yarns are vacuumed to remove nearly all of the dry soil, sand and dust by using the suction from our truck-mount system.

Pre-Condition

The rugs are pre-conditioned with special cleaning compounds designed specifically for your particular rug to break down soils, loosen oil deposits and remove spots on your area rugs.

Cleaning

We employ a clean rinse solution through our cleaning wand while extracting excess moisture. This will leave your rugs feeling soft and residue free.

Carpet Protection

A great way to keep your area rug cleaner for longer, is to have it treated with carpet protection. All carpet when manufactured has a protective coating applied. Eventually this wears away and it's left with no repellent. As your carpet starts to age, you lose protection due to the break down of the repellent. We recommend to have carpet protection reapplied after having your carpets professionally cleaned. It will repel wet and dry soils. We apply this through a pressurized water line after the cleaning is completely finished.

Rug Drying

A heavy area rug may take up to 24 to 72 hours to fully dry, and should be left to dry in well ventilated space. Area rug should not be left on a hardwood floor due to the drying time. Area rug should be placed a hard non-porous surface. Once area rug is fully dry, vacuum area rug to release fibers.
